| FUNDAY AND AGILITY SHOW IS HUGE SUCCESS | |||||||||||||||||||||||
The Fun-day and Agility show held recently at Bradfield, was aresounding success, because as usual, you the member s came through and supported us when we needed to raise some cash for the Papillon Welfare fund. Although the Club has always featured ‘have-
The novelty classes at the fun day were judged by Mr T Purse who said afterwards how much he enjoyed going over many lovely dogs. An excellent buffet lunch was created by the club's resident caterers Ian and Janet Chandler and their helpers.
Mrs Greystock entertained us to a display of heel-work to music. The baby puppy parade was, as usual, a delight. Following the appeals over the past few months for donations to welfare, all the stalls were loaded with Items for sale. In true fashion the members excelled themselves with their generous donations andalso their buying capacity. The profit on the day exceeded £800; all of this amount will go to welfare which makes the rather dwindled welfare account now look a lot healthier. The ‘Big Cheque' with monies collected at the May charity match amounted to £410 was presented to Pets-in-need (Carmarthen) and The Cinnamon Trust.
The Three Musketeers! There was an appearance of the ‘Three Musketeers' as the three London Papillons are now known. The three were taken into welfare in a rather sorry state earlier this year Denise and Alec have spent a lot of time trying to get them back to health and some sort of condition. The three appeared at the Fun-day in such good form and even won the Welfare/Rescue class. The veterinary fees to treat these three dogs have amounted to around £2000 and to see them healthy and enjoying life makes it all worthwhile. Although it really is sometimes embarrassing to keep asking for your support, the results are truly spectacular and do make such a difference. Heartfelt thanks go to all those that helped make the day, one to remember. We also thank Deidre Ashdown for her donations of her and Mike Fosters book CISPAP and further art work that was raffled to bring in extra funds. |
