Our second Open Show was held on Saturday 21st May 2005. We are grateful to all who supported us and made it such a successful show. |
Judge: Mrs Jo Davidson-Poston (Spinillons) Judges Critique Firstly I would like to thank you all for the super entry. It was an honour and pleasure to be able to judge at such a lovely show. The atmosphere was superb. Hopefully you won't mind a few honest observations…….. After all that is what you paid your entry for. Was sorry and disappointed to say that presentation leaves a lot to be desired. Especially amazed when I was given the chance to go over a few NFC fleas. Teeth were appalling in general. Not just bites but cleanliness, even in very young dogs. Light eyes also seem to be a problem which can ruin the best of dog heads. Across the board I was amazed to find so many dogs with appalling back ends, resulting in a lot of pinning in and other such problems which I am sure people must be aware of! Also sadly seeing a lot of incorrect heads, with short thick muzzles. Sizes varied immensely across the board, not a problem until you consider many with bone way too thick and coarse, loosing the dogs the dainty look they should have. On whole I found my dogs stronger than bitches. OD by far the best class of the day, some real quality dogs that were unlucky to come up against the main winners. I was delighted with my principle placings and once in the final line up , could not help but think that for me it was some of the best dogs I have seen out all year at any show and to get the chance to judge them was super. Will watch them all with interest in the future and wish them all luck. Would take them all home in an instant if possible. Thank you again to everyone, especially my winners. I thoroughly enjoyed my day. All photos copyright Steve and Stephanie Jefford. Photos on http://www.k9photos.co.uk |
