I am delighted to say the Kennel Club has granted Championship status to the South of England Papillon Club for 2009. The Chairman of the Club Mrs Pearl Peacock has asked me to relay the following: I would like to say how thrilled I am to hear, the South of England Papillon Club has been granted Championship status. In the few years since the club was founded it has continued to promote the breed in every way possible, this recognition from the Kennel Club proves what a hard working committee along with a very loyal membership can achieve. The members in particular must be thanked for their continued support of the club and its various functions. It is very good news for the breed that Papillons will gain an extra set of Challenge Certificates from 2009 and it will bring the club inline with the other four breed clubs. My thanks again to the Committee past and present, the excellent work of the Secretary and to the membership my sincere thanks for your support. Pearl Peacock Chairman |
Our fourth Open Show was held on Sunday 26th November 2006. We are grateful to all who supported us and made it such a successful show. We are looking forward to our next Open Show which is to be held on Saturday 19th May 2007. For more details see the Diary of Events page or contact: Mrs A Borg |

Judges Critique I would like to first to apologise for my critique being delayed. With judging the club show in the middle of my constant rehearsal period and travelling for “Starlight Express” it left me with very little time, so thank you for your patience. It was such an honour to judge the breed show. A big thank you to the committee and members for such a lovely day and the exhibitors for giving me such an excellent entry considering how many breed shows were on the same weekend. I had some lovely dogs to go over and I was very pleased with my principle winners.

| 1st | Stanbury's PANSPAYON STEPPIN OUT WITH INIXIA "8 mth old B/W. Constantly at one with his handler. Nice head and ear shape with sweet expressive eye. Ear fringing coming in nicely. Good classic body shape, nice level topline and steady front and rear angulations. Well set tail and plume coming. Moved lovely and behaved beautifully. BPIS " |
| 2nd | Morrell & Teague's TEMELORA SUN DANCER "8 mth old R/S/W. Pretty little boy that is going to progress I am sure with age. Lovely shape, front, spring of rib and rear angulations. Would have preferred a better tail set that was not so flat but otherwise a promising puppy." |

| 1st | Orchard & Stanbury's PANSPAYON C'EST LA VIE INIXIA “16 mth old B/W. Very showy little male that certainly pulls it all together on the move. Level topline, straight front and very balanced.” |
| 2nd | Chandler 's BUTTONS ‘N' BOWS “13mth old R/S/W with prettiest of heads. Lovely blaze and ears complimented with good fringing. My only wish would be for him to achieve a better standing position as I felt this did not do justice for the overall package.” |

| 1st | Osbourne & Stanbury's TYKKYDEWAS SANTA'S GIFT TO INIXIA “23mth old R/S/W. Exuberant little showman, which I love to see. Lovely head and fringing would have preferred a slightly shorter muzzle but was in proportion with head giving a nice expression. Eye catching outline showing correct shape and rear angulations. Showed a level topline, which he carried extremely well on the move. Moved with drive. Good length of coat and would have certainly given a spectacular picture on the move if more attention had been taken on less staining and presentation. Otherwise, so “much” to like and a stylish male.” |
| 2nd | Morrell & Teague's TEMELORA STORM PETREL JW “Lovely 2yr old B/W. Pretty head, symmetrical blaze and good ear shape. Construction for overall shape was good and moved freely. Just a shame he was out of coat, but that will come.” |

| 1st | Stanbury & Unwin's INIXIA DREAMS MAGIC “True B/W with lovely head and sweetest of expressions. Correctly set flanged ears with good fringing. Darkest of eye, lovely clear blaze and head markings. Extremely dainty throughout but still carried with masculinity. Good length of tail with height of plume and presentation complimented the final picture. For me the best dog of the day. BD / BOS” |
| 2nd | Stanbury's INIXIA WILY WILLIAM JW “2yr old B/W of similar type to 1 st place. Many of the comments of winner apply to this little boy however preferred the expression and head of the winner. But a very close decision and these two could change places easily. RBD” |

| 1st | Wilson & Boal's ERINSJOY COPACABANA “ B/W of 9 mths of age. Pretty head with a good overall shape. Apprehensive and a bit unsure on the table but with a little time spent and patience she pulled it together and was a lot better on the move.” |
Junior Bitch |
|
| 1st | Miller's FEORLIG MIDNIGHT IN GEORGIA “ Dark R/S/W of 17 months of age. This lovely bitch shows really well. Nice head and expression although slightly masculine but with her exquisite ear set she gets away with it and fringing will soften appearance. Lovely shape good depth of rib and level topline. Rear angulations excellent. All I will say is that with not such a quick pace from her handler she moves a lot better and is more at ease. Overall a lovely picture to the eye well shown. RBIS” |
| 2nd | Cottle's SERENGLADE SILEN LACE AT CATTELLINDO “Smaller 13-month-old Red and White bitch. She seemed to enjoy her day out.” |
Novice Bitch |
|
| 1st | Morrell & Teague's TEMELORA FOREVER NICHOLINA “Red Sable Phalene. 6 mths old with the prettiest of heads and a cheeky personality to go with it. Lovely fringing coming, excellent compact shape, nicely structured both front and rear. Moved confidently. It will be interesting to watch her ear placement as there were a few moments where she lost the correct placement but she is six months old and has plenty of time. A lovely little feminine bitch and it will be interesting to see how she matures. BPB and Best Phalene In Show” |
| 2nd | Morrell & Teague's TEMELORA NICHOLAS GIFT “Black masked Red sable Phalene. Litter sister to 1 lovely in all the same ways, other than slightly longer in body and of taller type. Preferred the head of the winner but a very promising puppy that with time and maturity could swap places at any point.” |

| 1st | Cox's WISH UPON A STAR OVER TRICIANBRI “ Black masked R/S/W. Could take this little bitch home as she is just my type. She has the loveliest of heads with such a sweet dark expressive eye. Nicely shaped ears which are well fringed. This dainty bitch has a lovely shape proving evident on the move. She is so sound and moves with drive, which is exactly what I like to see. She shows herself off to her best advantage. BB and BIS” |
| 2nd | Miller's FEORLIG ZWEET SENSATION “Very faint, tri colour bitch in good coat. Nice overall shape and shows well. I would just like her to get her head up on the move as she looks like she is hanging off the lead. Otherwise showing and standing she is quite eye catching.” |

| 2nd | Morrell & Teague's CH. SERENGLADE SEBASTIAN AT TEMELORA “9 yr old B/W male looking in good form. Pretty head with a wider blaze than I prefer but he is in tip top condition. Moving well and not showing his age at all.” |
